“Using Music, Songs & Movement to Develop Bilingual Literacy for the Early Childhood & Elementary School Programs”
This is a Clinic/In-Service presentation that will explore how music activities can enhance bilingual education, and other subjects such as reading, mathematics and problem solving skills, among others. Early Childhood Instructors will benefit from these activities as part of their bilingual education materials. Music activities and the materials presented will increase the enactive, iconic and symbolic aspects when creating a lesson plan. Most of the materials and/or music used in this presentation will come from Dr. Soto’s Bilingual Music Publications and music samples for the classroom and other materials will be provided, along with information of how to acquire additional music and/or of books related to this field. Music selections and activities will be chosen according to the teaching grade level (Pre-k to 6th grade), and it is highly recommended for early childhood educational centers, and for public and/or private pre-k and/or elementary school instructors and their programs.
“Learning Music, Songs, Movement, Listening and Rhythm in the Early Childhood Programs”
This is a Clinic/In-Service presentation that will explore how music activities can become part of the early childhood curriculum. Early Childhood Instructors will learn how to put together a lesson plan exploring the following music areas: Listening, Movement, Singing, Instruments and Musical Concepts, with the purpose of presenting these music activities to their children and part of their general curriculum. Most of the materials and/or music used in this presentation will come from Dr. Soto’s Bilingual Music Publications and music samples for the classroom and other materials will be provided, along with information of how to acquire additional music and/or of books related to this field. Music selections and activities will be chosen according to the teaching grade level (Pre-k and/or K grades), and it is highly recommended for early childhood educational centers, and for public and/or private pre-k and/or K school, their instructors and their programs.
“Classical Meets Flamenco on the Guitar”
This guitar concert will feature some of the most beloved classical guitar pieces on the first half of the program, and for the second half Dr. Soto will ignite the Spanish passion of flamenco music. This concert can be featured at community arts/music series, music festivals, conferences, universities, community colleges, high schools and/or magnet schools that promotes the arts as part of their every day life.
